OLIO

#1 Food Sharing App

"OLIO connects neighbors with each other and with local businesses so surplus food can be shared, not thrown away. This could be food nearing its sell-by date in local stores, spare home-grown vegetables, bread from your baker, or the groceries in your fridge when you go away. For your convenience, OLIO can also be used for non-food household items too.

OLIO is super easy! To make an item available, simply open the app, add a photo, description, and when and where the item is available for pick-up."

OLIO: About Us

All Black Lives Matter

Racial Disparities in Food Security

It's time we change our habits when it comes to food consumption. 1/3 of food produced globally is never eaten and 1/4 of our fresh water supply is used to grow food that is never eaten. Not only is this destroying our planet it is also destroying communities that are the hardest hit by food insecurity. African American households face hunger at double the rate of white households and 1 in 4 African American children struggle to get enough to eat. This is unacceptable and we need to fight for more equitable resource allocation in our communities. This app can be a great first step for anyone who wants to get involved and provides amazing support for activists and volunteers too!
